“EUREKA!” exclaimed the miner, “I found gold.” A dirty face emerged from the gloomy mineshaft, eight other miners crowded around the dazed miner. “Amazing,” they all said.
Life was hard in the 1850s many people were getting sick and dying so when gold was discovered in Ballarat many family’s rushed over to get rich and live a good life.
When you made it to the gold fields you could of had a job like a miner or a shop keeper.
When the miners had enough of having to pay 30 shillings for a gold license, they rebelled against the government so the Eureka Stockade was built, the miners also burned down The Eureka Hotel.
Some important dates in the gold rush are 1851 when gold was first discovered.
During this unit my partner and I made a part of our class diorama. Our building that we made was the Criterion Store. We also made another part of it as well which was the diggings.
I used the PLA of collaboration to work with my partner to make our part of the diorama.
A challenge that I faced during this unit was making our building in our diorama even though it was my favourite part as well. We also went on a amazing two night camp we had a lot of fun.
Some advice that I would give to the grade 4s would be work with Ma
Something that I learnt about myself was that I am very creative when it comes to designing things.
A summary of this experience would be that it is very fun and I would definitely do it again if I were to.
